CAL Fashion Show- Threads of Time
The Center for Advanced Learning (CAL), known for its dedication to nurturing the talents of driven and creative teens, proudly announces the highly anticipated annual fashion show by its Fashion, Art, and Branding (FAB) program. Set to take place on May 30th, 2024, at the MHCC College Theater, this event promises to be a captivating exploration of student creativity and innovation.
Under the theme of "Threads of Time," this year's fashion show invites attendees to embark on a journey, delving into the interconnectedness of the past, present, and future as perceived by the student designers. Reflecting the participants' diverse perspectives and artistic visions, the showcased collections will offer a unique and thought-provoking insight into how young people experience the world around them.
The fashion show will be held at the MHCC College Theater, located at 26000 SE Stark St. Doors will open at 6:00 PM, and the show will commence at 7:00 PM. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door. General admission is $12, and discounted rates of $8 are available for high school students and individuals over 65 years old.
CALebration
Families are invited to join us for an evening of celebration as we congratulate each CAL senior for completing thier CAL Journey. Seniors arrive at 5:15 PM and the event starts at 6:00 PM.

MEM Capstone Presentations
Join us for an evening of Capstone presentations presented by CAL Manufacturing and Engineering students. Seniors have been working all year on their Capstone projects. They will show their process and unveil their final projects for friends, family, and community partners.
Preview NIght for New Students
CAL welcomes all newly accepted students and their families to CAL to tour the building, meet their teachers, learn about transportation and lunch, and see what their classes will look like next year. We look forward to seeing you there!
State Testing at CAL
Juniors will be taking state OAKS testing in Language Arts on April 3-5th. All students will be required to take the test unless they have filled out the Opt Out Form.
Reynolds and Centennial High Schools- CAL Fast Tracks
Reynolds and Centennial High School students will join us at CAL on February 9th to tour our programs, meet our teachers, and learn from our students. Check in with your counselor for more details.
Gresham and Barlow- CAL Fast Tracks

Springwater High School- CAL Fast Tracks

CAL Parent Teacher Conferences
CAL is excited to invite families to Parent Teacher Conferences. This is a time for folks to visit CAL and check in with teachers about how their student is doing. This is a time to celebrate successes and also identify areas where students can continue to grow and offer support.
Conferences at CAL are being held in-person onsite. We have times available starting from 8:00AM through 7:00PM to try and meet the needs of working families. We also understand that some families cannot make it in person, and so we are also offering the flexibility for families to call instead.
If you require translation services, we offer many languages over the phone. We will also have an in-person Spanish translator onsite from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Please join CAL in celebrating our seniors' accomplishments on Thursday, May 18, 6:00 p.m. at East Hill Church in Gresham.
Preview Night
All accepted Sophomores and their families are invited to come to CAL to meet their teachers, tour their classrooms, learn about their schedules and more. We’ll have fun activities and maybe even a prize or two! We’ll see you on May 4th from 6:00-7:00 PM.

Join us March 9th from 6:00- 7:00 PM. All current students, future students, parents, family members, community members, and business partners are invited to CAL to tour our spaces, talk to our teachers and staff, and learn more about what we do here.
We will have hands on activities in all our program areas and staff will be here to answer all of your questions about the exciting things we do here at CAL.
Fast Tracks
Sophomores! Join us February 9th and 10th during the school day. We’ll pick you up at your home high school and bring you to CAL to explore the school, talk to teachers and staff, visit our program areas, and get your questions answered about coming to CAL. You’ll get a chance to meet current students and participate in fun activities in all our program areas. See your counselor to get the permission slip for this field trip. We look forward to meeting you!
